Forgepoint Capital is excited to announce our investment in Surefire Cyber!

At Forgepoint Capital, we back entrepreneurs building best in class solutions that help their customers defend the digital world. Sometimes that means partnering with the best in the industry to create a new company to do what no one else can. That’s why we are thrilled to team up with Founder and CEO Billy Gouveia as part of our $10 million investment in the company to help organizations prepare, respond, and recover from cyber incidents.

Through our collaboration with industry stakeholders over the years, we understood many of the questions organizations face when responding to and recovering from security incidents. Wondering whether they have the best team in the market to help their organization accelerate the time from incident response to recovery shouldn’t be one of them.

We incubated Surefire within Forgepoint last year when Billy Gouveia joined us as an Entrepreneur in Residence to hatch the company’s strategy, business model, technology platform, and team – all while establishing indispensable partnerships with several companies across the Forgepoint portfolio.

Since then, Surefire Cyber has assembled a team of leading responders with hands-on experience preparing for all aspects of a cyber incident, expertise to collaboratively guide clients and partners through high-stakes response events, and skill in helping organizations emerge stronger post-incident. They bring with them individual know-how and collective insight to build from the ground up their own client-centric approach and innovative, tech-enabled platform.

Today, Surefire Cyber boasts a strong roster of blue-chip customers and partners by delivering swift response to cyber incidents such as ransomware, email compromise, malware, data theft, and other threats with end-to-end response capabilities.

Several Forgepoint portfolio companies – like IDX (breach notification), Bishop Fox (penetration testing), Cysiv (extended detection and response), Converge Insurance (cyber risk mitigation), and SolCyber (managed security services) – offer unique and complementary capabilities that create differentiating joint go-to-market opportunities for Surefire Cyber. This approach is core to our investment strategy at Forgepoint, where many companies collaborate and benefit from the mutual support of our full investment team and advisory network.

By fostering innovation across our broad portfolio of 36 companies and pooling the insights and resources from across our Advisory Council of more than 75 leaders across industries, Forgepoint is fueling the next wave of innovation in cybersecurity to protect the digital future.

We’re excited to continue our work with Surefire Cyber as they become the industry leader for full spectrum incident response services.
