Speaker Bios
Billy Gouveia, Founder and CEO of Surefire Cyber
Billy brings 20+ years of experience in cybersecurity and incident response to the company and is a highly regarded expert and trusted advisor to C-level client executives and their organizations.
Prior to founding leading digital forensics and incident response firm Surefire Cyber, Billy served as an Entrepreneur in Residence at Forgepoint Capital. His previous experience includes leading U.S. business for the global cyber and intelligence consultancy firm S-RM, where he was involved in responding to hundreds of cyber incidents.
Before joining S-RM, Billy held a variety of technology and consulting roles, including co-founder of a ransomware defense company, COO of a managed services start-up, and in executive roles at Protiviti, Sungard, and Booz Allen. He previously worked in the Intelligence Community and served in the US Army. Billy holds a BA from Columbia University and an MA from Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service.
Cyndi Gula, Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Gula Tech Adventures
Cyndi Gula is a Co-Founder and Managing Partner at Gula Tech Adventures which focuses on cyber technology, cyber policy and recruiting more people to the cyber workforce. As GTA’s Managing Partner, she helps startups scale successfully. She serves on the Boards of Directors and Advisory Boards for GTA portfolio companies including OnSights and Surefire Cyber, and actively helps many of the nonprofits supported by the GulaTech Foundation.
Cyndi is a cyber startup operations expert. She previously started and ran licensing, HR, legal, facilities, accounting, marketing, channel, support, and sales operations for both Tenable Network Security, which went public in 2018, and Network Security Wizards, where she was President and helped it grow to a successful exit 18 months after being founded. Cyndi serves as the Chair of the Howard County Economic Development Board, a Commissioner for the Howard County Equal Business Opportunity Commission, as a Trustee for Howard County General Hospital: a Member of Johns Hopkins Medicine, and on the board of the Howard County Conservancy.
In 2023, Cyndi was awarded the Gold Medal order of Thor by the Military Cyber Professionals Association and was later that year was also named as a NEW Power Women of DC Tech by DCA Live.
She has a Bachelor of Science in Glass Engineering from Alfred University.
