Marcos Torres is a Venture Partner at Forgepoint Capital. He serves as a strategic advisor to Forgepoint’s portfolio companies and assists with investment due diligence.
An operator-investor with a track record of scaling cybersecurity businesses from early stage through hypergrowth, Marcos is regarded as one of the finance leaders who defined the playbook for building security companies serving the SMB and MSP market. Today, he serves as an advisor and operating partner to early-stage cybersecurity companies and is a speaker and writer on leadership and ego dynamics for founders and executives.
Most recently, Marcos was CFO of Huntress, where over five-plus years he built the Finance and Operations organization through 23x growth, IPO readiness, and the company’s achievement of both centaur and unicorn status in 2024. Prior to Huntress, Marcos was VP of Finance and Business Operations at Nava PBC, where he partnered with the executive team to drive double-digit growth. Earlier in his career, he held senior roles at Pendrell Corporation, a publicly traded intellectual property investment company, and Edgenuity (now Imagine Learning), a KKR and Weld North Education SaaS portfolio company in EdTech.
Marcos has been featured by Hispanic Executive for his leadership at Huntress, and has appeared on NYSE Floor Talk, NASDAQ Live from MarketSite, and CIBC’s Innovation Banking podcast.
Marcos holds a degree in Electrical Engineering from Universidad Metropolitana in Caracas, Venezuela and an MBA from the USC Marshall School of Business, and completed the CFO Program at the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School. An active member of the USC alumni community, he has held several volunteer leadership positions, most recently serving as Treasurer of the USC Alumni Clubs of DC and Phoenix.
When not working with founders, Marcos can be found traveling the world and exploring different cultures, looking for diverse perspectives of human nature.
