2024 Year in Review

2024 was marked by rising consolidation across the cybersecurity market, lower deal count, muted valuations, and elevated funding levels with expectations of accelerating M&A and IPOs going into 2025. Just as software ate the world, AI is now eating software. We’re fascinated by the expected impact of AI on cybersecurity and every business process through to the entire technology stack- giving rise to boundless opportunities as well as emerging threat vectors.

But market dynamics and technology trends don’t tell the full story- the tales of innovation, breakthroughs, and achievements from the builders, practitioners, and industry leaders shaping the future of cybersecurity, AI, and infrastructure software globally.

As we reflect on 2024, we are honored to share highlights from our community of innovators dedicated to building a stronger digital future. The best is yet to come.

Huntress Raises $150M, Becomes A Unicorn and Centaur, and Eyes An IPO

In 2024, Huntress raised $150M in Series D financing, became a unicorn with a $1.55B valuation, and achieved centaur status by surpassing $100M in annual recurring revenue. Next up: IPO!

Huntress $100M ARR with Kyle Hanslovan CEO and Ernie Bio

“When we first invested four and a half years ago, it was clear Kyle, Chris, and Huntress were on to something – to bring enterprise-grade cybersecurity to the vast yet largely ignored market of millions of SMBs. The progress they’ve made since then is astounding – both headcount and ARR increased over 20x. As they continue to expand their platform capabilities and scale into new geographies, they’ve maintained that same maniacal focus on customers and partners. I have never seen a more mission-focused team.”

Our Brand and Website

In May, we launched our refreshed brand and new website. Cybersecurity has changed significantly since Forgepoint’s founding as a sector-focused VC firm in 2015, with innovations in cloud technologies, internet-connected devices, and generative AI impacting every aspect of business and personal life. As we’ve grown our team and evolved our thinking, it became clear that we needed to refine how we convey our mission, vision, values, and approach to better “show, not tell” what we do and believe- and the incredible innovators we support.
