2025 Year in Review

Investing in cybersecurity and the intersection of cyber, AI and infrastructure

2025 was a year of rapid growth and change.

The cybersecurity market showed its resilience by outperforming the broader software market, while AI startup funding spiked dramatically. AI is now firmly at the center of every enterprise technology decision as a primary factor in competitive differentiation.

However, the enthusiasm for and adoption of AI now outpaces security, identity, and data architectures, creating ‘shadow AI’ and exacerbating security gaps. AI governance and visibility remain top concerns, with identity security becoming a key challenge in the age of AI agents. AI-driven threats and nation-state pressure are also reshaping national security, making public–private collaboration more essential than ever.

For the full story, we must look beyond macro trends to the exceptional builders, practitioners, and leaders enabling and securing our digital world. As we reflect on 2025 and look ahead to 2026, we invite you to explore highlights from our community of innovators.

Thank you for your support. The best is yet to come.

Our commitment to global innovation

In 2025, we strengthened our global reach and impact, building on the launch of Forgepoint Capital International and our strategic alliance with Santander by backing six exciting international startups: Adaptive6Capsule Security, Qevlar AI, Maisa, Multiverse Computing, and Tadaweb. These companies join international firms in our portfolio including Constella Intelligence, Lynx, and ReversingLabs, continuing our track record of global support that extends back to prior investments in AlienVault (acq. AT&T) and BehavioSec (acq. LexisNexis Risk Solutions).

We were also thrilled to welcome 13 new advisors to our Global Advisory Council in 2025, expanding our international community. In addition, our investors contributed perspectives to vibrant dialogue at events hosted by the EU Delegation to the US and INCIBE, continuing our close partnership with EU institutions in the US and globally. Forgepoint Capital International was named a member of the European Cyber Security Organisation (ECSO) as well- a recognition of our commitment to identifying and backing European cybersecurity innovation.

Today, Forgepoint Capital and Forgepoint Capital International operate as a unified global team alongside our partners at Santander and our community of supporters. Together, we are committed to helping innovative startups scale globally into new markets.
